A year ago, I started researching, traveling, taking photos, asking questions, and writing, writing, writing. Manuscripts were submitted to publishers in early spring. Edits, revisions, and tweaks occurred, followed by formatting and then printing. FINALLY they were both released. Now I’m eager to start autographing copies and talking about how they came about. You can be sure that writing a book (and, in this case, TWO books) is a long, arduous process. When you can finally hold the finished product in your hand, however, it’s a thrill with a great mixture of relief and a feeling of accomplishment.
I have 13 events on my calendar between now and the end of September. Some of which are open to the public. A few are not. At any rate, I want you to be aware of the public ones, so you can know where to find me. Even if you’re not interested in buying a book, the hugs are free. 🙂

August 15, Reeves’ Peach Farm, 11:00-2:00 Hwy. 36, Hartselle (I will, for sure, be leaving with bags of fresh produce. I’ve been wanting to taste one of their orange-center watermelons).
August 18, Morning Pointe Assisted Living, 1:00 Franklin, TN (Mostly music) Kay Dekalb Smith’s mother, Jan, lives there. I’ll play arrangements for favorite hymns, and Kay will sing several songs.
August 20, Athens Public Library, 1:30, 603 S. Jefferson St. Athens
August 21, Blue Apple Books, 12:00-3:00 across the street from Main Street Cafe in Madison (Come and see me either before or after you have lunch at the Cafe or tea at Lanier House a block away).
August 22, ShopMOSS across from Edgar’s Bakery in the Village of Providence, 12:00-4:00 Huntsville (This will be the first anniversary of the shop’s opening. I hear a harpist will be playing and expect it to be a lovely time).
Sept. 5, Sherry’s Sparkle Made in the USA, 10:30-1:00 (before kick-off, of course) 127 Main St. W, Hartselle. (Sherry continues to expand her selection of products made completely in the United States).
Sept. 9, Decatur Public Library upstairs in the Community Room, 12:00-2:00, 504 Cherry St. Decatur (This is for their FYI series of programs. No food is allowed, but you can bring water in a closed container. In other words, grab a quick lunch before you arrive).
Sept. 12, Harrison Brothers Hardware, 10:30-1:30, 124 Southside Square, Huntsville (I love this vintage store and its collection of products made by local artisans).
Sept. 22, South Huntsville Public Library, 6:00-7:30, 7901-L Bailey Cove Rd SE, Huntsville
